Dave Schuman for Boundary County Sheriff

Allegations: Some of you may be aware that Dave Schuman was placed on administrative leave due to a personnel complaint. On April 1, 2024 Dave officially retired. While I typically address matters promptly, in this instance, my intuition urged me to hold back. That’s why I’ve remained silent in recent months.

Dave Schuman believes this was an attempt to undermine him during the elections. He asserts that in his 24 years of service at the Boundary County Sheriff’s office, he has never received any formal reprimands. More details will emerge in due course, but we must all exercise patience while legal obligations are fulfilled. In the meantime, here’s an interview where Dave shares some insights (Selkirk Port Chat)

Jon VanGesen for Boundary County Sheriff

Allegations: During his deposition, Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler testified that he directed Jon VanGesen, a candidate for Boundary County Sheriff, to “hide” negative comments on Facebook.

Jon VanGesen informed the Sheriff that he “he wanted to keep comments going”.

The 1st Amendment ensures the right to freedom of speech and expression. When a government official suppresses or hides negative comments, it is an infringement on this constitutional right to express grievances against the government.

Judgement 8/16/21 Defendant Jon VanGesen’s counterclaims are dismissed with prejudice.
Plaintiff Taylor’s counter-counterclaims are dismissed with prejudice.

Travis Stolley for Boundary County Sheriff

Community members are questioning Travis Stolley’s suitability for Boundary County
Sheriff, citing concerns about his adherence to law enforcement protocols and ability to
fulfill the duties of the office.

  • Allegations from 2019 suggest Officer Travis Stolley did not follow prescribed procedures
in handling a case involving child pornography on an iPod.
  • * See documents below for reference.

  • Following the 2020 Dr. Drake murder, questions arose about Stolley’s adherence to local,
  • state, or federal procedural protocols regarding the use of gloves.
  • * Please see video below for reference.

  • Further concerns arising from Stolley’s historical financial record, including a Chapter 7
Bankruptcy filing in 2014. Copies of this Bankruptcy Court filing is available on request.

These concerns seem relevant to any informed decision by the voters in selection of
candidates for Sheriff and might bear on fitness for the duties of this elected office.

Judgement: 2/18/2014 Chapter 7 Bankruptcy…

Allegations: 4/20/24 Update: The FBI has forwarded the allegations in regards to Travis Stolley and the iPod with child pornography to the Idaho Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). They have declined to discuss the current status with me.

1/27/24 Update: Both parents have stated that they did not receive the iPod and do not know its whereabouts.

Despite this, law enforcement, the school district, and the county prosecutor, have ignored all complaints and requests for investigation. I have offered local and federal law enforcement my willingness to testify.

Audio recording of Bonners Ferry Police Department’s voicemail stating Travis Stolley never filed a report or submitted the iPOD into evidence. Also, the existing SRO states the school doesn’t have it either.
